Rodhain (pronounced rod-heyn) originally comes from the name of an inland Yemeni region, in the province of Hadhramaut. Located in Western Asia, Yemen is known for its richly coloured and textured fabrics, which has become a special source of inspiration to our creative process here at Rodhain. Our name Rodhain also came about from a playful combination of the words 'road' and 'hand' which reflects our vision of the road to reach out and grab our dreams.
From classic plaid patterns with contemporary twists, to traditional songket and jacquard patterns with unique computerized designs, Rodhain always puts originality first. With the spirit of East meets West, each product is created with culture, creativity and craftsmanship in mind.
Rodhain was launched at Indonesia Fashion Week 2017. The label's first collection entitled 'Heart of the Sea 2017' is inspired by shapes and colours found in the sea, from colourful coral reef plants to varying shades of blue sea waters. The colours in the collection's fabrics range from earth brown to emerald green, black to purple, and navy blue to turquoise.
To kickstart the debut collection, Rodhain is enlisting Mike Lewis for the spring/summer 2017 campaign, Poppie Mayiesky on photography, and stylist Dinta Jakile. Shot in Belitung island on the east coast of Sumatra, Indonesia, the collection offers a colourful variety of long and short sleeve shirts for men with playful style.
Rodhain is produced by PT. PAJITEX and is currently under the Creative Direction of Yaviz Basalamah.
